ILS Resurfacing Process

The Resurfacing Process: What you need to know.

Tubs, Tile & Countertops

Our projects may involve industrial-grade materials that emit odors. To reduce emissions and improve the quality of the air while working, we install ventilation fans. We make every effort to lessen the effects, but we are unable to provide an entirely odor-free atmosphere right away. Odors usually begin to fade two to three hours after completion. Although they are not dangerous, these fumes could be present for a short period.

We may produce some dust during our processes. To prevent dust and safeguard your area, we cover everything with drop cloths and plastic sheeting. After the service, there can be a small residue that is readily removed with a moist cloth.

We employ spray equipment to apply our treatments, which means a lot of paper and masking tape. Paint on surfaces may occasionally peel when masking tape is removed. Our professionals are ready to make any necessary corrections to any areas damaged during cleanup if touch-up paint is available. Even though we utilize low-tack tape to reduce this danger, paint peeling still happens infrequently.

Countertops

To have access to the countertops, we may need stoves and/or refrigerators moved. We ask that homeowners plan to have any appliances moved prior to our arrival. If our company must move any appliances, we will not be liable for any damages that may occur by moving them.

Appliances will not be put back in place right away if they are tightly fitted and could scratch the recently refinished surfaces. To prevent damage, homeowners are recommended to replace this equipment a few days after the project is finished.

Repairs and Additional Charges: Extra services beyond normal refinishing include cosmetic and minor structural repairs, which will come at an additional cost. Potential repair expenses are something we try to factor into the first quotation. But in the event that unanticipated issues show up during project estimation or execution, our professionals will advise the homeowner of the problem's nature, the required fixes, and the related expenses.

Bathtubs

For ILS Resurfacing, please ensure all personal effects and loose items are removed from the bathtub area and bathroom before our team arrives. Tub and tile should be dry at least 2-3 hours before our technicians begin the resurfacing process.

Preparation and Protection: We will cover vanity top surfaces and place drop cloths over the floors and toilet. Storing small loose items under a cabinet or removing them from the bathroom altogether will help prevent any damage or misplacement.

Fixture Handling: ILS Resurfacing does not remove or reinstall bathroom fixtures or handle any type of plumbing work. We recommend our clients to make prior arrangements for fixture removal, leaks, or reinstallation concerns with a reputable plumbing company.

Water Drip Issues: Please address any dripping faucets in the bathtub prior to resurfacing. If a drip persists, our technicians may need to shut off the water supply to the house during the resurfacing process to ensure a smooth and effective application.

Additional Services and Costs: Stripping old finishes, making structural repairs to bathtub surfaces, or permanently removing shower doors and their tracks will incur additional costs. While we aim to cover all potential issues during the estimation process, occasionally unexpected needs arise that may affect the final cost. Our team will communicate any such issues and their solutions as soon as they are identified.

Tile Resurfacing

Our Step-by-Step Refinishing Process

When you choose ILS Resurfacing for your refinishing needs, here's what you can expect throughout the process:

Preparation: Our team takes great care to thoroughly prepare the area before starting any refinishing work. This includes extensive use of masking paper, plastic, and tape to protect surrounding areas. Occasionally, tape can pull paint off the walls; if you have touch-up paint available, we can address small areas, but please note we cannot return for further touch-ups.

Execution: Our knowledgeable professionals will expertly refinish your surfaces using Grade A produced materials and cutting-edge application processes to guarantee polished outcomes. Our crew members are skilled in handling both the preliminary work as well as the finishing.

Completion: Once the refinishing is done, we conduct a thorough cleanup, removing any protective coverings and making sure the area is neat and tidy. We do our best to ventilate fumes and minimize overspray dust—though it's strong for a couple of hours post-completion. We recommend covering furniture near the work area to protect it from dust. We also provide a walkthrough to ensure your complete satisfaction with the work performed.

Special Considerations:

Caulking: We do not perform caulking before or after the refinishing process. Our finish material requires a dry surface and any caulking should cure for 24 hours before painting.

Bathtubs: Fixtures are not removed by our team due to the risk of leaks. Please ensure any fixture replacements or caulking removals are done prior to our arrival.

Tile Walls: Ensure all tiles are securely attached and any grout issues are resolved beforehand, as our materials do not fill missing grout spaces. We can provide simple solutions for minor grout issues post-service.

Follow-Up: After the service, we offer guidance on how to care for your newly refinished surfaces to ensure they remain in excellent condition. Surfaces need 48 hours to cure before use, with light use recommended for countertops for up to a week thereafter. We are also available to answer any questions or concerns that may arise after the project is completed.

With ILS Resurfacing, you can expect a seamless, efficient, and high-quality refinishing process from start to finish.
